The Hampton Inn will be an 80 room hotel custom-designed to represent the historical significance of this area. The hotel will be located on the corner of West Scenic Drive and Market Street with a a nearly unobstructed view of the Mississippi Gulf.
Along with the custom nature of the hotel, it will include: Outdoor lounge area, patio and pergola for guests, meeting room, resort style pool facing the ocean, and all of the amenities that are expected from the Hampton Inn brand. This hotel will serve the community and give out-of-towners a place to stay in this quaint town.
“We have been working diligently to make this hotel concept a reality and thanks to Mayor McDermott and the City administation it has come to fruition,” said Sunny Desai, President and CEO of Desai Hotel Group. “We are very proud of what our new hotel will do for the City of Pass Christian, and we are equally proud of the fact we will become a part of this community.”
The hotel is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2017.

Pass Christian Police Department’s K9 Wodan has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Wodan’s vest is embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Rocco, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police”.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The non-profit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with this potentially lifesaving body armor for their four-legged K9 officers. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provided over 2,000 protective vests, in 50 states, through private and corporate donations, at a cost of over 1.7 million dollars. All vests are custom made in the USA by Armor Express in Central Lake, MI.
The program is open to dogs actively employed in the U.S. with law enforcement or related agencies who are certified and at least 20 months of age. New K9 graduates, as well as K9s with expired vests, are eligible to participate.
The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $1,050.00. Each vest has a value between $1,795 – $2,234 and a five-year warranty, and an average weight of 4-5 lbs. The event will be held at the Hancock Bank Annex on Davis Avenue beginning at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Coffee, pastries and other breakfast items will be available during the community event.
The Public is invited. This will be an ongoing event throughout the year with future dates.
